AL RU Farm is a destination garden nestled conveniently between the Barossa Valley and the CBD, just minutes from iconic Adelaide Hills venues and sightseeing. History

Since purchasing AL RU Farm in 1981, the owners have transformed the gardens from a few daffodils with sheep grazing its perimeters to a flowering country garden filled with vibrant colour and perfume that changes with the seasons. 

Noteworthy Features

Al Ru Farm can cater for 35 through to 350 guests and has multiple options for your wedding formalities such as the homestead lawns and the white wedding garden. The venue’s other beautiful landscaping includes a lily pond complete with open pergola, a huge white rose and wisteria archway, and their iconic glass greenhouse.

Al Ru also has undercover function spaces too, including the open-sided Hayshed and The Barn, which is a completely enclosed indoor space. Beautiful in its own right, The Barn features hand-rendered walls adorned with vintage gilt mirrors, and polished concrete floors. Although this space looks stunning with florals and additional lighting strung across the ceiling, very little is needed to make this space shine.

Along with their great facilities and inclusions, weddings are also fully-catered for, plus you have the choice of bringing your own beverages or drinks supplier. And for the cherry on top of your ice cream, they are also flexible with supplementing their dessert options perhaps with a gelati or espresso cart.

Cost Considerations

AL RU Farm’s package prices include drinks service and there is no extra corkage charge for ‘BYO’. The packages, both for seated dinners and for cocktail options, are all inclusive; there is no ‘venue hire’ or other rental type fees to consider. There is also no extra cost for holding your ceremony there.

As well as full receptions, AL RU Farm also offers a ‘ceremony only’ package. This package includes your full set-up and two hours on the property. In using AL RU Farm for your ceremony you have full access to the garden, which offers a multitude of fantastic photo opportunities.  

Onsite Accommodation

The onsite accommodation has been carefully designed with meticulous attention to detail to create a warm, luxurious and unique feel where you can relax and enjoy the surroundings. This intentionally-created fantasy space will remove you entirely from the usual and the mainstream.

All three suites available at AL RU Farm – the Australia Suite (1 bedroom, 3 guests), the Garden Pavilion (2 bedrooms, 5 guests) and the International Suite (2 bedrooms, 7 guests) – are generously appointed and boast the finest fixtures and fittings. You’ll enjoy a well-stocked pantry including espresso coffee and a range of teas. Warm bread is delivered each morning to accompany farm fresh eggs and bacon. During your stay, you can explore AL RU’s 10 acres of manicured gardens and enjoy the farm experience. In warmer months, swim in the perfectly heated pool or in cooler seasons, enjoy a crackling open fire. You can also bushwalk and go horse riding nearby, or explore the many local wineries, distilleries and amazing food venues.
